  • Commences March 2012
  • Includes 11 study weekends
  • + 5 day residential in Sydney
  • Distance learning students receive notes and assignments on a monthly basis plus DVDs of Sydney lectures and also attend a 5-day residential workshop in Sydney.The distance learning course is also available to residents of selected overseas countries in the Australian region who are able to attend the 5 day residential.

Requirements for enrolment

  • Age over 23 years
  • Subscriber Membership of IYTA
  • At least 3 years attending a Yoga class
  • Sponsored by own qualified teacher - must currently be attending Yoga class and continue to do so during the course

 Assessment and graduation

To graduate, students are expected to:

  • Attend fully the 5 day residential workshop
  • Successfully present 16 written assignments (1 or 2 per month)
  • Undergo and pass 2 written examinations, one halfway through the course, and one at the end
  • Conduct successfully, following guidelines of the Course, a 1 1/2 hour Yoga class assessed by two IYTA examiners.

On successful completion of the course, students graduate with a recognised teaching diploma and are eligible to apply for Full Membership of the IYTA.

Fees

  • Approx A$6,500 and $,6200 earlybird
  • Payable in 4 instalments
  • Deposit on application: A$250 (refunded if application unsuccessful)

    • Lecture manual and hand-out material
    • IYTA Handbook of 84 Traditional Asanas
    • Full cost of 5 day residential
    • DVDs for correspondence students
